minat meroti bermula dari Roti Pa'ung (sebutan anak2 saya) yang gemarkan roti ini...resepi minta dari kawan kakak yang buat bisnes roti ini..namun tidaklah begitu mudah walaupun ikut resepi yang diberi jika tiada pengalaman membuat roti. mula menerai sekali jadi dua kali tidak jadi, mencuba lagi banyak juga lah trial n error namun kata orang, 'practice makes perfect' sebenarnya roti paun ni bahan-bahannya sama juga seperti roti manis, bun manis or sweet bun or bun yang sewaktu dengannya.

roti hokaido...ni panas2 lagi, baru keluar dari oven...seperti biasa apa juga roti yang saya buat saya akan membuat perbandingan bahan2nya...bahan asas sudah pastinya sama..cam roti hokaido ni, nama jugak lain so bahan lain yang extra adalah penggunaan whipping krim dan tidak menggunakan langsung mentega/minyak atau pun shortening.
satu kelainan roti ni dengan roti lain ialah dari segi baunya wangi masam2 manis whipping cream yang menusuk hidung...

1 lb coarse wholemeal (whole wheat) floor
6 oz plain white (all purpose) flour
1 tsp bread (baking) soda
1 tsp salt
3/4 pint buttermilk (approx)
preheat oven, 400F/200C/gas mark 6
mix the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. stir in enough buttermilk
to make a fairly soft dough. turun onto work surface dusted with
wholemeal flour and knead lightly until smooth underneath
form into a circle, abt 1 1/2" thick, and put onto a baking sheet. Mark a deep cross ( saya
turis spt dlm pic) in the top with a floured knife. bake for abt 45 mins/bread is browned and
sounds hollow when tapped on the base. cool on wire rack, wrapped in a clean tea towel
to keep the crust soft

ni kisah teruja lihat di rumah Kitchen Snippet.....seperti biasa juga lah bahannya saya ikut kepala sendiri..tapi Gert buat cantik kemas jalinannya...kebetulan ada lebihan inti epal yang saya beku jadi apabila suatu hari meronda jalan tersinggah rumahnya maka terbit lah ilham nak buat...dah siap anak saya terkejut, 'mak roti apa besaq panjang.. cam ulat besaq..'. Gert tak tabur flaxseed cuma glazed egg wash dipermukaan roti...
