JEM BUNS

Bun yang besa besa je tapi bila tengok dalam buku resepi ke, dalam blog ke ia semacam menarik perhatian. Masa blogwalk blog Technicolor Kitchen tengok tuan rumah buat bun jem ni, tergoda lah pulak hati ini nak membuat. Apatah lagi bahan2 perlu ada je.. Membuatnya memang mudah bagi sesiapa je yang dah tahu meroti. Jom tengok resepinya di bawah;

2 tsp active dry yeast
5 Tbsp caster sugar
3/4 C + 1 Tbsp (337 g) all-purpose-flour
3 Tbsp unsalted butter,melted
1 egg yolk
2 Tbsp heavy cream
icing sugar for dusting (optional)

Place yeast, 2 Tbsp sugar and milk in a large bowl and mix to combine. Set aside in a warm place for 5 mins/bubble appears.

Add flour,butter,yolk and remaining sugar to yeast mixture and mix till soft dough forms.

Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 mins or until smooth and elastic, adding a little flour to the dough, place in a lightly oiled large bowl, cover with plastic and set aside in a warm place for 1 hour/doubled size.

Butter a large baking sheet. Divide dough into 16 pieces and roll into balls. Press out into circle of 12cm diameter and spoon 1 tsp jam into the centre. Carefully fold dough enclosed the filling and pinch to seal. Place pinched side down onto the baking sheets.

Using a sharp knife, make a small cut on the surface of each roll. Cover with clean tea towel and set aside in a warm place for it to raise.

Whisk together the yolk and double cream and brush over the buns. Bake for 15 - 20 mins/dark golden. Dust with icing sugar if u prefer.
